Foreign language SEO is going to become increasingly important in the next few years with the desire for growth of the web’s biggest brands exceeding the capacity of English speaking territories. It won’t be exceptable for much longer for English speaking countries to ignore the majority of the worlds population in digital marketing and vice versa.

There’s a few minor issues which need to be resolved- the adsense ads aren’t translating to the new languages and the search can only return English results but on the whole I think it works very well.

Their are a number of obvious benefits to offering translations to your site or blog. The first being you open your potential audience to billions more people in non-english speaking countries (a billion people in China- a few of them have to be interested in what you have to say!). Also from the point of view of the search engines your blog is going to be far more visable to hundreds of regional engines which operate in different languages. It will be interesting to see how Google interprets backlinks from regional results in different languages towards your overall count, regardless this increased exposure can only be a good thing for a blog.
