Affiliate Marketing with Paid on Results
Paid On Results supply most of the non Adsense advertising on Vanilla Digital at the moment. I’m a big fan of affiliate marketing both as a blogger and a marketing consultant as its by far the most mutually rewarding advertising for everyone involved in the process.
The advertiser or merchant as they are usually know in affiliate programs, only has to pay out for their affiliate marketing when a sale is made so a fixed minimum ROI can be guarenteed.
The publisher or ‘affiliate’ takes a cut of the sale made for the merchant which not only usually works out as a more lucrative revenue stream than PPC or CPM advertising models when advertising programs are carefully chosen based on the sites theme but is also better for the site. By targeting advertising to the needs of your websites visitors as a publisher you are providing a more useful experience and the adverts are seen as less intrusive- this sort of control over who advertises on your website can rarely be achieved with other online advertising programs.
For the visitor the benefits are obvious- advertising targeted at them means adverts stop being an annoyance and often become useful. Where affiliate advertising is more targeted often less advertising will be crammed onto a page in order to make it profitable. A good affiliate marketer knows not to overcrowd their pages with advertisements as this will reduce the CTR and likelihood of profiable conversions.
Paid On Results have a few really good programs for Vanilla Digital including the E-Consultancy adverts I’ve been using a lot of lately and I’m also running a number of their other programs on different sites. As yet these programs are proving more profitable for me then adsense…
