Vanilla digital marketing directory launched
Like it or loathe it web directories are still around and they still form a significant part of many SEO schedules. Vanilla digital have just setup our own free web directory for digital marketing sites- agencies, blogs, software- anything to do with the digital marketing industry.

OK so the world probably doesn’t need another free web directory and until we get some serious entries on it the things probably not going to get a lot of traffic so think of the Vanilla directory as a sort of extended link list like those you usually see in the sidebar. At first its a bunch of sites which I like and use and want to create a few links to- feel free to add your own site, so long as its not spam I’m not going to be too militant about upholding the integrity of the directory.
While we’re on the subject I’ve also added my first poll titled ‘Is directory submission still an effective form of SEO?’. I ask this question because I know a lot of people (myself included) are still citing the practice as part of SEO programs although with the ever stricter backlink criteria for Google is this still a good investment in time or are there other areas that SEO time could be better spent upon i.e. creating quality content? let me know what you think…
