Is blog marketing just a passing trend or here to stay?
The new poll topic is up and what I want to know is what sort of future peopple think blog marketing will have. 2006 saw the real explosion of blog marketing and 2007 looks to blow it out the water with blogs increasingly becoming central components in digital marketing strategy- but is this a passing fad?
All the things which make blogs so popular and important today could be there downfall a few years down the line. Blogs create a massive proliferation of low quality content across the internet, even technorati head up their homepage with the slogan: ‘71 million blogs…some of them have to be good’ but what about when there’s 701 million blogs or more, sure some will still be good- but thats a lot of rubbish content to sift through to find it. Increasingly blogs are being associated with SEO spam with search marketers keen to capitalize on the healthy SEO benefits of push button publishing and syndicated distribution.
None the less blogs can be great for companies and individuals and right now they’re revolutionising the way a lot of companies reach out and talk to their customers and are increasing the flow of information across the web but the question remains, is there a time limit on this?
