New look and new features for Google’s free web stat tool

Google Analytics has just launched the beta version of its new look reports with prettier graphical displays and what looks ultimately like easier navigation of reports and data. The most useful improvements I have seen so far seem to be the much clearer, more direct visitor summary screen which says exactly how much traffic you’ve had in the selected period on one screen which is probably the most widely used information on Analytics.

According to Webside Story (HBX) Ask Jeeves or Ask.com as its now known had below a 3% market share of UK search in 2006 (See the press releas on e-consultancy) but they’re looking to change that with a big PR and cross channel marketing campaign- but is the old search engine itself up to the test?

I’ve recently had digital TV installed at home (a bit late I know but I rarely watch the thing!) and was flicking through some of the more obscure channels during a break when I stumbled across Google current which immeditely struck me as an interesting concept.
The pop news style show reports on stories based on their increased search popularity in Google so obscure stories which are getting a lot of exposure- like the japanese sheep poodle story below which appeared all over the papers last week.

On the 6th of April I posted on the geo location of my visitors before setting up the blog translation software on Vanilla Digital allowing speakers of 13 different languages (and 13 regional search engines) to read my blog posts.

This diagram maps the ideal link profile of a website for a link building SEO campaign. Covering the main sources of links which make up a typical campaign, the graph shows where each fits in the ‘link constellation’ and the sort of proportional quantity each should be sourced in.
The diagram is based on the makeup of some of the most successful SEO link building campaigns I have run and although its far fom an exact science following this visualisation as a guide will, I believe, result in the most successful possible link campaign for improving PageRank and keyword ranking.
